Performing Arts Summer Camp
When the school year has ended and kids are home for the summer, it's a great chance for them to kick back and take a break from subjects that they hate but have had to work on all year long. Now they should be able to do what they like best. If your child is interested in film, acting or music, a performing arts summer camp may be just the thing for him.
You can encourage the passion in your child for these subjects by giving him a chance to spend a few weeks intensely studying it. Your child might choose from film/media, theater/acting, dance and music theater camps, or a camp that does a little in each subject. For the truly passionate child, it's best to choose the camp that specializes in their area of interest.
In film and acting camps, children have the opportunity to see the art from a new perspective. They will learn about the skill that are needed for acting, but will also get a look behind the camera and find out what goes on with lighting, stage layout and all the other elements that need to be controlled. In the best summer acting camps, children have the opportunity to write, produce, direct and edit their own film! What a fantastic holistic experience!
Theater camps focus much on the various aspects of acting and characterization, voice and dictation, movement, all when performed in a live setting. They will get experience in improvisation, physical humor and character interpretation.
These camps will inspire you children to greater heights and encourage their efforts thus far. They will have a fun time with new friends while also learning important skills that they might not learn elsewhere. Imagine your child in an upcoming school play, giving a confident and sparkling performance. Then imagine them doing the same on Broadway in a few years!
Another performing arts summer camp is a music summer camp. Many children are learning to play a musical instrument either at school or through private lessons or both. This is great for children, not only for their musical understanding but for their development in other areas as well.
At a music summer camp children learn about all aspects of music. They are broadened from their emphasis on one instrument and learn about how music works together. There are many different kinds of music summer camps such as those that focus on one type of instrument, to many instruments, all the way to rock music camps! This is a great way to encourage your budding musician.
Dancing is another popular summer camp. Children are encouraged to express themselves through dance and have the opportunity to learn about many different types of dance.
For kids who love being on stage, a performing arts summer camp is the perfect choice for them. Get them enrolled and watch them glow as they grow in skill and confidence.
